MSOR+MSIEM

Example: Planning a MS in Operations Research + MS in Information Engineering and Management

The MSOR has four required core courses, three selected depth courses, and three electives. The MSIEM has seven required core courses and three electives. Pursuing the two degrees separately, ignoring double-counting opportunities, requires 20 total courses (60 semester credit hours).

By using one overlapping core course, and using the same three electives for both degrees, only 16 courses (48 semester credit hours) are required to receive both degrees. (Elective choice should be coordinated with the student’s advisors.) Either degree can be completed first, and there are many alternative variations of this combined degree plan.
