SUPPLY-CHAIN SYSTEMS ENGINEERING

Catalog Description

The course introduces supply-chain design, development, and management concepts and principles from a systems perspective. Topics include: the system life cycle; influences of reliability, maintainability, and supportability (RMS) and risk analysis associated with supply-chain design, development, and management; supply-chain management strategies; high-level supply-chain and transportation concepts and theories; and deterministic system modeling based on customers’ needs, requirements, and functional analysis.

The objective of the course is to provide students a fundamental understanding of relating SE practices and methodologies to supply-chain design, development, and management. The student learns the importance of applying SE concepts to the supply-chain design, development, and management. Outcomes of the course include development and understanding of functional analysis, incorporating risk analysis and mitigation techniques, and fusing reliability analysis as applied to supply-chain design, development, and management.
